STUDIO SESSIONS™

Focused legal work. Defined scope. Clear deliverable.

Studio Sessions™ are standalone, flat-fee engagements for brand owners and creative businesses that need an answer at a specific stage: before you apply, before you launch, before you sign. Each session covers one defined question and ends with a written work product you can act on.

Every session involves the same research and analysis I use for full representation, customized to the single decision in front of you. You might not be ready for ongoing legal counsel. But you still have a question that deserves more than a Google search and a guess.

Some clients start with a Studio Session and later engage the firm for broader work. Others get what they need in one session and keep moving on their own. Either way, the work is thorough, the scope is defined, and the fee is set before we begin.

SPOTLIGHT SERVICE:

TRADEMARK CLEARANCE OPINION

Two white price tags with "YOUR BRAND HERE" hang from golden strings against a light gray background.

Before you apply, before you print labels, before you build a launch around a name, a Trademark Clearance Opinion tells you what’s already out there, how close it comes to your name, and whether the path to registration is open.

The opinion includes a comprehensive trademark search covering federal registrations and applications, state filings, and common law use, along with a written legal opinion on registrability, a likelihood of confusion analysis, recommended filing classes, and specimen guidance tailored to your business.

You receive a detailed opinion letter you can act on: file an application on your own, engage Cloth & Code Legal for registration, or change direction before you put your money and marketing behind the name.

This session is for brand owners choosing a name, designers naming a line or collection, and anyone deciding whether a name is worth building on. Even if you plan to file on your own, the opinion gives you the legal groundwork to make an informed decision.

Fee: $1,800, flat. Opinions are delivered within five business days of engagement.

If you engage Cloth & Code Legal for your trademark application, a $600 credit from your Trademark Clearance Opinion fee applies toward that engagement. The credit is valid for 45 days from the date of the opinion because a clearance search is a snapshot: the register changes daily, and a cleared name is available only until someone else applies for it or a similar name.
